About Our provider, Dr. Aditya Patel
Dr. Aditya Patel is a double Board Certified Anesthesiologist and Interventional Pain Medicine Specialist. He has extensive training and experience in interventional pain management as well as general and regional anesthesiology. His current areas of interest include the application of regenerative medicine in the management of various painful conditions to reduce pain and restore function for his patients. Dr. Patel completed his Residency Training in Anesthesiology at the Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston New Jersey, before going on to the Mount Sinai School of Medicine where he completed a postgraduate fellowship in interventional pain management.
Prior to starting his formal medical training he completed undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology and Neuroscience. Dr. Patel earned his medical degree with high honors from St. GeorgeÂs University School of Medicine. Upon completion he chose to pursue a Research Fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. There he had the opportunity to contribute to a project studying cellular responses to hypoxia which was later published in current biology.
Dr. Patel completed Residency training in Anesthesiology at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey where he served as Chief Resident during his final year. During this time he developed a special interest in interventional pain medicine and regional anesthesia. He then had the opportunity to pursue his interests in pain management at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine where he completed an Interventional Pain Medicine Fellowship.
After finishing his Fellowship training, Dr. Patel began working as an Anesthesiologist at the Mount Sinai Brooklyn Hospital. There he worked to implement best practices in perioperative pain management complementing the comprehensive surgical services offered there. Embracing leadership opportunities at an early stage in his career, Dr. Patel was able to develop protocols for acute postoperative pain management for both ambulatory and inpatient surgical procedures emphasizing a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.
Currently Dr. Patel has shifted his focus to providing non-surgical treatment options for all types of acute and chronic painful condition in addition to various sports injures. His current emphasis lies in incorporating office based diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in combination with multi-disciplinary physical rehabilitative modalities to help achieve the best possible results for his patients.
